CORANCrude Oil Refinery-owners Association of Nigeria

A non-profit association incorporated to promote crude oil refining in Nigeria — the collective voice of refinery owners working with government and industry to unlock Africa's refining future.

The Crude Oil Refinery-owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) is a non-profit association incorporated to promote crude oil refining in Nigeria. The association works closely with the relevant government agencies such as the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Ministry of Environment, Federal Ministry of Finance and other Stakeholders in proffering sustainable and scalable solutions that provide investment-friendly legal and regulatory policies to boost the Nation's refining capacity through the private sector.

CORAN is a voice for all refineries operating in Nigeria. We collectively work with our members to highlight key issues, challenges, and constraints, as well as draw attention to existing gaps where Government's immediate intervention is needed.

With a sound collaborative commercial experience and a pragmatic approach in the crude oil refining business, we provide our members with leading-edge strategies when entering or operating a refinery in Nigeria. We are geared towards promoting industrial productive activities which enhance the economic prosperity of the Nation.

CORAN is governed by an elected Executive Council, responsible for formulating policies and programs, in line with the vision of the association to entrench local content in the oil and gas refining industry in Nigeria. The Executive Council, supported by the employees of the association, oversees the day-to-day running of the association.

A Board of Trustees (BoT) — traditionally senior industry leaders and past executives — is tasked with the responsibility of providing high-level support and guidance to the Executive Council of the association.
